Submit to the Whistle Tree

Submission Guidelines
The WhistleTree Project is a literary journal you can hear. We publish original fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry — and we read selected pieces aloud on YouTube and TikTok so stories don’t just sit quietly on the page — they get heard.

We’re here for bold voices, quiet truths, weird little gems, and stories that might not fit in other places. Send us your best.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Flash Fiction or Flash Creative Nonfiction
    Up to 800 words

  • Fiction or Creative Nonfiction
    Up to 3,000 words

  • Poetry
Up to 3 poems or 6 pages total

We love work that feels alive when read aloud. Work that breathes. Work that lingers.

What We’re Not Looking For:

  • Anything generated by AI

  • Previously published work (unless invited)

  • Work that is intentionally unkind, mocking, or written to harm — we love bold writing, but not mean writing.

How to Submit:

  1. Choose your tier (Standard, Expedited, or Feedback).

  2. Pay the submission fee.

  3. Fill out the submission form and upload your piece as a PDF or DOCX.

We read blind — please remove your name from the file.
